CHARLESTON EAST MASTERPLAN
LOCATION / MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA
PHASE / DESIGN COMPLETED 2008
SIZE / 310,000 SF

This 310,000 sf expansion of core R+D offices was developed as Google’s first ground-up project on their Mountain View, California campus. It was proposed as a model project for both workplace design and sustainable development, it was also the first project to be designed using the established master-planning guidelines by William McDonough and Partners together with Arup engineers. The new building will serve as a testing ground for innovations that push the conventional limits of office architecture. It aims to be an entirely performance driven project: cost-effective, functional, smart and responsible.
