Bloomberg Takes a Virtual Reality Tour of 111 W 57th St.

As the SHoP-designed 111 West 57th Street nears completion, Bloomberg’s editors strapped on hard hats and took a 91-story ride on the exterior hoist to film some see-it-to-believe it footage from 1,420 feet in the air with state-of-the-art virtual reality cameras loaned from Google.

SHoP to Speak at FABRICATE 2020

Scott Overall and John Paul Rysavy will speak at FABRICATE 2020, an international peer-reviewed conference with supporting publication on the theme of Digital Fabrication, taking place in London from April 2-4, 2020. Scott and John Paul will present SHoP’s research and development work on WAVE/CAVE, and participate in a panel discussion on fabrication.

The Market Line Officially Opens to the Public

How Virtual Reality is Augmenting Realty

On a recent tour of 9 DeKalb Avenue, the future site of a 1,066-foot residential tower, soon to be the tallest in Brooklyn, construction workers were still laying the foundation. Then an associate with SHoP, the architecture firm in charge of design, pointed an iPad toward the hole in the ground and dropped in a true-to-life rendering of the 74-story skyscraper. American Copper Breaks Free of the Glass Straightjacket
