The museum, recently renovated by SHoP, anchors the city’s Railyard District.
SHoP’s sculptural terra-cotta installation during Milan Design Week invited visitors to “pause and reflect, one at a time, on the hectic speed of our world.”
More than 1,600 terracotta blocks make up the undulating installation, which is intended to be a commentary on solidity and the pace of change.
SHoP’s design for the museum boasts about 14,000 new sq ft of space, much-needed technical improvements, and a dramatic new entryway.
